SAFE Drop Off and Pick Up

Parents in the neighborhood surrounding Chaboya have reported near misses, in terms of accidents. Montecito Drive, at the rear of the school has been specifically troubling. Cars are abruptly stopping when clearly visible signs state No Stopping At Any Time; individuals are not using their signal lights to indicate to fellow drivers they are turning. PLEASE ADHERE TO THE RULES OF THE ROAD. This will help avoid accidents and keep everyone safe. Thank you.

Principal's Message

Welcome Chaboya Middle School parents, students and community members.  My main goal for Chaboya Middle School is to ensure we all work together to provide a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment that puts students first. We value the diversity of our students, and believe everyone should be valued for their unique gifts and we strive to offer every student the opportunity to reach their potential through a rigorous curriculum. I look forward to personally meeting you, as together, we build an amazing environment for our kids.

Volleyball Try-outs

Dear volleyball players and parents,

Volleyball season is just around the corner and students should begin getting ready for tryouts.  Due to the large interest and turnout every year, the Chaboya program must make cuts.  Therefore, it is important that the players know they must be prepared to play their best during tryouts.

The final teams will be a combination of both 7th and 8th grade players.  Players must be committed to participate in practice and/or games Mondays through Thursdays for the duration of the season.  The season will run from the start of tryouts, Monday, February 2nd , and will hopefully continue through the championship games on  Thursday, April 16th.   Our expectation is that students will compete and perform at a high level that requires discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship and commitment. It is our plan for students to improve their skills while enjoying the experience of being part of our teams.  This philosophy does not include a guarantee that playing time will be equal for every player.

  • Both the “Chaboya Sports Permission Slip,” “Concussion form” and the online registration below must be completed before you can try out. (Hint: It is easier to access the form via Chaboya’s home page.) Please see Mr. Connolly or Mr. Henry if you need help with registration. Click here to register.
  • Girls’ tryouts will begin at the outdoor courts on Monday, February 2nd from 2-3:30 PM.
  • Boys’ tryouts will begin at the outdoor courts on Wednesday, February 4th from 2-3:30PM.

      Sincerely,

         Coach Chris Connolly (boys)

         Coach Matt Henry (girls)

Drop Off & Pick Up Safety

At Chaboya, we have nearly 1200 students on campus. To minimize your frustration due to traffic congestion, late arrivals, and accidents, we recommend the following:

Alternative drop off & pick up locations:
 * (North of Chaboya) Drop off & pick up at Fowler park, which is Michelangelo Drive
 or
 * (East of Chaboya) Drop off & pick up on Verona Rd., near Montecito
 or
 * (South of Chaboya) Drop off & pick up on Capriana Circle
 and
 * If you live within walking distance of Chaboya, have your child walk to campus.

Time:
Drop off students no later than 7:20 AM
Wait until 2:00 PM to pick up students.

Safety:
It’s our goal to get your students to and from school. Please be great role models to your children by exercising patience and adhering to all driving rules/laws.

  • Be courteous to other drivers
